You don’t just want any job that says “remote,” and if you’ve been following me for a while, you already know why.

A lot of companies throw the word “remote” into their job postings, but once you read the fine print, you realize they still want you living near the office, working in one specific country, or showing up in person a few days a week.

That’s not what we want and I just KNOW that’s not the kind of remote job most of you are looking for.

When I talk about remote work, I’m talking about the kind of opportunity that can genuinely upgrade your life. The kind that gives you flexibility, better work-life balance, and in many cases, the ability to work from anywhere.

The companies that tend to offer this kind of experience usually have one thing in common: They are Remote-First.

That means remote work isn’t an afterthought or a temporary perk. It’s how the company was built from the beginning. Their systems, culture, communication, and hiring processes were designed with distributed teams in mind. And in my experience, these are often some the most exciting companies to work for.

They tend to offer incredible perks, hire globally, and truly understand that great work does not depend on sitting in an office.

Here I am, a random Thursday at 2PM, ever since I started working remotely and my days are no longer defined by going to an office & having a schedule

In case you’re new here…

I am Andrea Valeria and I got my first full-time remote job in 2015, long before remote work became mainstream. Back then, I was recruiting and interviewing candidates online using Skype. (Yupp… ‘cause Zoom wasn’t even popular then. 😂)

Since 2019, I’ve helped thousands of people land their first remote jobs, and if I were starting my job search from scratch today, Remote-First Companies would be one of the first places I’d look.

That’s because these companies don’t just tolerate remote work… they totally embrace it and stand behind a true remote work lifestyle. They give their employees the best perks and benefits, the most flexibility and most freedom to work on their own terms. That makes a huge difference IMO.

In this article, I’m sharing some of my favorite Remote-First Companies to keep on your radar, along with the remote job directories I personally recommend when you want to find even more opportunities.
