I’ve been working remotely for 10+ years now.
But sometimes I like to think about what I would do if I had to start from zero again. No connections, no remote experience, nothing “special” on my resume.
Just me, the skills I had when I started, and the goal of getting a remote job as soon as possible.
The plan I would follow is a lot simpler than people expect. It’s also a lot more practical than most of what you see online.
So, let me walk you through my 3-month plan to get a remote job.

I got my first remote job back in 2015 — way before people knew what it was. And that job was in Human Resource. I would recruit, screen, interview and hire candidates remotely. I did it all on Skype back then… there was no Zoom. 😂
